Posted by OKStormShelters on June 14th, 2011 in Financing

If you’re on the fence about buying a storm shelter because of the high out-of-pocket costs, fear no more!

Communication Federal Credit Union is running a promotion for storm shelter financing.  You can see the document below or you can download it here.  They are offering storm shelter loans as low as 2.99% APR for qualified borrowers.

They encourage you to apply online or get more information by calling (800) 654-LOAN.  If you’re local to Muskogee, you can call Meagan Davis directly at (918) 682-4333 and she’ll assist you.

Do you guys cover the Dallas area?

    • We can install storm shelters and safe rooms in the Dallas area, but we’ll have to determine a custom delivery fee as we would have to be put up in a hotel for the night before and after the installation.

  3. Dawn says

What is your estimated delivery/instillation time for a storm shelter in Thomas, OK (73669)??

  4. Mandy says

What is your estimated delivery/instillation time for a safe room in Moore, OK 73170?

  5. Kristen says

Is it true that you have to be 5′ away from the house and 5′ away from the property line?

    • This is not true for all cities/counties. Storm shelter placement is dependent on where you live and how strict the building permit department is. I believe we’ve already discussed this via email, but in Norman, you do have to be 5′ away from the house. The 5′ away from property lines wouldn’t surprise me. Most cities are pretty picky about property lines, but most of them don’t care about how close you get it to the house.

  6. I am very interested in a 6′ x 6′ safe room. What is the wait time for installation once the safe room has been purchased? I live @ zip 74002.

  7. What is the cost for Yukon Oklahoma and how long until you could install?

  8. Joe says

what is the turnaround time for a 4′ x 6′ or 4′ x 8′ safe room in Tulsa, OK

  9. i’m wanting to purchase a 4′ x 6′ safe room. I attempted to apply for a storm shelter loan online through Communications Federal Credit Union but it states I would have to be a CFCU member before I can apply. I understand that is something I will need to talk to them about. No problem. I will contact Meagan Davis tomorrow morning. My question is, once I get the loan how long will it take to have the safe room delivered to Norman, OK? Please email me any information about your safe rooms and an estimated delivery date.

  10. will they finance an above ground in galena kansas. we already have an 7×7 shelter pad for a shelter to be installed on

    • I don’t know their terms, you’ll need to contact them directly to get your answers. You can call them at (800) 654-LOAN.

  11. Marvin says

How much would cost me have a 6×8 and 6×10 setup at 72758? What is the distance how far away from house has to be build at 72758? And is financing available for my area?

    Thank you

    • I’ve emailed you costs for both storm shelters setup at 72758.

Some cities require that you stay at least 5′ away from the house while some cities don’t care. We’ve gotten it as close as 2″ before.

I would recommend you contact your bank or some local banks to you and ask them if they have short-term personal loans. That’s what banks around here classify storm shelter loans as. It usually ends up being a 24-36 month loan with an APR of 2.99%.

  12. i have septic tank so how would the llines affect the storm cellar and i have pecan trees in back yard. thanks

    • The septic tank lines won’t be an issue, but you will need to show us where they are so that we don’t try digging where the lines are. The pecan trees won’t effect our backhoe. It can dig through the roots if that’s what you’re worried about.
